Aion Closed Beta Jul 2-6
Played Aion again this weekend. Closed Beta as they are still trying to "region-alize" the game for the US, Europe and possibly other areas.
The game has been out in Korea and China for a bit and they are now bringing it to the rest of the world.
MOST of the game play issues have been worked out but then we get to the few that just don't work well with some of the 'children' of all ages we have here in the US. I assume they are in other areas too but these 'jokers' seem to be prevalent here.
They are one of the reasons I dis-like basic PvP games.
What kind of ... intellect gets their thrills out of easy kills? I might understand if there was some kind of reward. Experience even in small to minuscule amounts might explain it but nothing else has.
What am I talking about? Ganking.

|Why have a lvl 10 quest in a PVP area that during the closed Beta on July 2-6 was home to level 20s.?|
AionSource, DoughBoy, XeroWolfe are the ones that I have screenshots of.
They could not pvp against others so three to four level 20s set up shop in the Arena and all they did was stop the lower levels from completing their quest. It took two hits from one of the 20's camped there to knock me out of the arena. None of my weapons as a 12 ranger even slowed the 20 warrior. They even saw thru 'Hide 1' with ease.
After several IN-game petitions with no response, I am looking for one here.
This set-up has turned off at least 3 WoW converts that I know of. They were set to buy the game and this one issue shows them that the Aion crew do not seem to care. How many others there were is not knowable. None or 100s?
The idea to allow PvP at that level is nice but the power difference between a 10-12 and a 20 is too high. At least in that one arena either lower every one to a max cap or raise everyone to a certain level.
These screenshots are from THREE (3) hours after my initial Ganking. I had put on two levels and was getting ready to go back in. Stupid me.
We will see what response this gets.
Overall Aion is a very nice polished game with few flaws. Most of the issues I have hit were caused by Players and this is true of any on-line game. Having an ignore on chat is a good thing.
