The quest you are talking about is given to you via the Arena Manager, the quest is designed to introduce you to the arena. You do not have to take or do this quest to continue playing the rest of the game. The Arenas are area's designed for players to hone and practice their skills on other players. It is unfortunate that you were unable to complete the quest but it is designed around the idea of PvP. When you enter the Abyss at 25 you should be ready to encounter PvP at any given time since that is the nature of the world when two factions hate each other as much as the Elyos and the Asmodian do.
Thought that was interesting.
I tell him that three players were making the game look bad to the people playing the Closed Beta
He gives me the idea behind the arena.
Oh yes I did respond.
Suggest you READ the email. I have no problems in PvP. In the Abyss at level 25 we would be fighting level 25-30 Correct?
NOT 10-12s against 20s. Do you see the difference? 5 levels verses 8-10 levels.
The abyss can be entered or left VOLUNTARILY. When RIFTS pop up you can run away if you don't like PvP or like the difference in levels.
To Complete the quest you are forced to enter the Arena.
"The Arenas are area's designed for players to hone and practice their skills on other players."
What kind of SKILL does it take for a level 20 player to hit a level 10-12 player? Two hits and we were kicked out of the Arena.
I wrote to you because you have a LOT of WoW players complaining of just this sort of thing and that will LIMIT YOUR SALES.
In most MMOs that allow PvP this High level ganking, King of the hill thing is looked down on. It does no good for skills, no PvP improvement, no experience gain.
It does however discourage new players and does encourage them to look at other games to meet their needs.
I am not requesting a discontinuation of the Arena. It can be fun but it, like duels have their place. I was suggesting that you put the contact OUTSIDE the arena. Give people who go into the Arena for the first time a experience bonus but allow those that do not want or can not STAY in the arena an alternate means of Completing the quest.
I really like Aion and will be buying it It is not a reaplacement for TR and is quite a bit more linar than CoH/V but so far I have had a lot of fun learning it.
